6th Annual Sweetheart Soiree
2007 Report

The CAC Sweetheart Soiree is
traditionally held on the Saturday before Valentines Day, thus
providing a perfect opportunity for Paris residents to treat
their Valentines to a special night out. In turn, attendees will
be giving back to some of this community's most treasured individuals
its
abused children.
This year, the 6th Annual 2007
Soiree, "A Time to Celebrate," was held on Saturday,
February 10, at the Love Civic Center where over 400 sponsors
and ticket holders enjoyed dinner, dancing, complimentary bar,
live entertainment and a silent and live auction and over $20,000
was raised - the most ever raised at a Soiree event to date.
The
two underwriters for this year's event were Nelda & Dale
Trahan and Campbell Soup Supply Company. The Trahans, owners
of the local McDonald's, have been at the head of this fundraiser
for the last 5 years. In an ongoing effort to give back to the
community, Campbell Soup once again committed to standing behind
the CAC to ensure the success of this event.
Mike Wright & Catering 4
You provided the food for the evening which included beef and
pork tenderloins, hot wings, cocktail shrimp, fruit and vegetable
platters that were offset by lighted ice sculptures as well as
chocolate covered strawberries, a beautifully decorated white
cake.
Live
entertainment was provided by the Blandelles who are known for
playing "Rock and Roll the Way You Remember It." The
band hails from Greenville, and they have been a favorite local
area band since 1985.
Thanks to the generosity of local
businesses and individuals many sought after items were auctioned
off in both the live and silent auctions. The live auction included
items such as an autographed football by Roger Staubach and Troy
Aikman, 4 Stars Hockey Tickets with parking- Platinum Club, a
Carin Terrier Puppy, as well as a Handmade Deer Stand and other
various items.
This year's Soiree featured 2
jewelry items in a giveaway. The first being a 1 carat, 7 stone
diamond Journey necklace valued at $1,800.00 that was won by
Jim and Pat Bell. The second jewelry item was a 1 carat diamond
tennis bracelet valued at $1,100.00 that Dr. Steven Walter won.
Both items came from Gene the Jeweler.
Thank
you so much to all our sponsors, the businesses that donated
to the auctions, to our wonderful Board of Directors' and the
committees who worked so hard to make this year's Soiree such
a success.
A huge "Thanks" also
to Chapman's Florist, Gene the Jeweler, Campbell's, Coca-Cola
and Capizzis' for all their help!!!
Mark your calendars for the
7th Annual Soiree on February 9, 2008!
