Sweetheart Soiree 2008

The 7th Annual 2008 Soiree, "Midnight in Paris" was held on Saturday, February 9th, at the Love Civic Center where over 425 sponsors and ticket holders enjoyed dinner, dancing, complimentary bar, live entertainment and a silent and live auction. All proceeds went directly to the Children's Advocacy Center of Paris.

The three underwriters for this year's event were Nelda & Dale Trahan, Campbell Soup Supply Company, and Bank of America. The Trahans, owners of the local McDonald's, have been strong supporters of this fundraiser every year since our first Soiree. Campbell Soup once again committed to standing behind the CAC to ensure the success of this event. And a big thank you to Bank of America for becoming our newest and third underwriter.

Crawford's Hole in the Wall provided the food for the evening. Guests could choose from an array of appetizers and were then served Monterey chicken and prime rib for dinner with homemade bread pudding and cheesecake for dessert. Live entertainment was provided by Emerald City out of Dallas, TX. This outstanding band is a favorite in and out of Dallas and has even played at the White House for President Bush. We are excited to announce the return of Emerald City at our 2009 Soiree!

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and individuals many sought after items were auctioned off in both the live and silent auctions. The live auction included items such as an autographed football by Tony Romo, a Teacup Chihuahua puppy, as well as a hand carved carousel horse, a hand made quilt and various other items.

This year's Soiree featured a 42" LCD flat screen TV that was the envy of many. This impressive TV was valued at $1,100 and was won by Dr. Steven Walter.
Thank you so much to all of our sponsors, the businesses that donated to the auctions, to our wonderful Board of Directors' and the committee's who worked so hard to make this year's Soiree such a great success.
